Finally I'm the boss.

It's official,
a) Office Heroes is the worlds most boring app game
b) I'm stubborn and wanted to become boss.

Level 40 is where the boss is at,
he is called the Office Ninja.
At level 39 I'm a superstar.
Now, at level 40,
I've deleted the stupid fucking boring game.

Love me like a reptile.

I had a dream last night
that I was at a Motörhead gig.
Rock on.
They had a tiny stage,
and I was in a room back stage.
It was an odd show, where most
of the audience couldn't see the band.
Then later, in the wee hours,
I needed one, which was in a children's
soft play area, and a woman's baby fell over the edge
and I caught it by it's leg.

Weird dream.
Just remembered that it was
probably because I saw my Motörhead shirt
that day and I thought that it was too Top Shop cool
to be worn in public, then I thought that no matter,
I was in Australia and it has British dates on the back.
Then again I'm 30, not 40.
I'd still get laughed at.

Glad I saw them in Portsmouth last year.

***************************************
I think I've just fucked my
chances at a future contract
extension at work.

No matter, I keep thinking
I'm going to be saved.

I don't know
call it
woman's intuition.

Oh I have to be in a meeting.
Ta-raa.

Interjection from the 6th Jan 11.
I recently was invited by my friend G to
watch Reverend Horton Heat,
well fart about backstage really.
The Rev have toured with Motorhead,
and told a funny story about how much
Lemmy drinks and how his lifestyle
of drugs and alcohol and rock n' roll
are keeping him alive and as soon as he tries to quit
he'll die from shock of lack of above.
Anyway Reverend Horton said that he tried
to keep up with Lemmy one night
and ended up having his wife take him to A & E.
Sometimes I feel I'm 7 degrees of separation away from
being an it girl.

Luckily that 7 degrees is in fact 7 degrees.
(I don't want to be an it girl).
I want to remain in the audience and clap.

Reading, Writing and Selling.

I've read 4 books already this month,
normally I struggle, put them down,
forget, start others, put them down,
forget.
But now I'm devouring them.

West Coast - Kate Muir
Jake's thing - Kingsley Amis
Monster love - Carol Topolski
I think there's something wrong with me - Nigel Smith.

Next it'll be a whole bunch,
that I'll pretend to read
on Landscape architecture
for school.

I just sold a bike on Gumtree,
yay, Angus (if you even know about this
blog,) I'll post you the $120
just as soon as I've copied the photo booth photos,
gah, my to do list is getting shorter I guess.
I actually sold it for $150 but
she had no change
and my purse was in the house
so I just told her to take it for $140.
Cos I'm a lovely person.
Problem solved.
Easy.
Easier than selling that crap wireless router.
That, took 10 months to sell.

And now I have $20 for beer money.
I need to make a move.

Oh and I'm writing a book.
More on that later.
I have 3 draft pages so far,
which is a lot more than I ever got
with the last 5 or so books I was going
to write.

Christmas time. Slayer and Lights. Santa's Evil. Gifties and Wine.

Normally I hate Christmas lights,
and Slayer,
but I can dig this!

Sunday, 5 December 2010

One step forward, three steps back.

That old feeling is creeping back
into my mind,
should I stay or should I go?

Yep,
I'm there again.

Saturday, 4 December 2010

Come up and see me, make me smile.

At work tonight:
'who is that old guy in the other van?'
'J'
'he said that you never smile'

I didn't know that, I thought I often did.

My kind of boss told me I seemed quite flat lately.
That I did know. I just said yes I am.

I'm going through yet another friendship
break up, his choice, but also mine.
I don't like rules in a friendship.
I don't like anger and bitterness.
And I certainly don't like being told I have no loyalty,

Don't tell me who I prefer to hang out with.
Especially when I helped you to not get beaten up.
I'm a peacemaker, but I don't have enough fight left
In me to heed your ruthless disposal of friends.

Least I can be bored at lunch time now.

Moving house - again.

Lets see now...
In the past 10 years I've moved 6 times,
this will be my 7th.
In my life I've moved 15 times,
that's an average of 1 place every 2 years.
Not including temporary places.

Kitty has moved 5 times in 8 years,
not including temporary places.

Nonetheless I'm looking forward to moving
again.

From now on, you must call me...

Atsuko Tanaka...

Watashi no Atsuko Tanaka desu.

So, I decided that my new Japanese name would be Atsuko Tanaka.

Then, I decided to google myself.
(Sorry for you grammar purists for changing a noun into a verb).

and, here's Atsuko Tanaka how cool!

Wednesday, 17 November 2010

Let's just settle it now, things get nasty otherwise.

Yesterday S gave me a gift,
my love of Jeffrey Brown comics and cats.
Yay, it's not even my birthday.

 Need more kitty?
Cute boys with cats.

Vege samosas are quite messy to eat.

I just said to S that I wished
my vege samosa triangle had more corners.

The title is a quote from Jill in Nighty Night.
That woman gives me nightmares.

Monday, 8 November 2010

Kitty paddle.

Will try to attempt to film my cat in the bath,
on the next sunny day.

It'll be a horror film!

How can I not go to work drinks.

Got invited to work drinks,
but am a bit broke,
bit sullen,
besides,
I need to get fabric to dye for school
and I'm working at donuts all weekend.

Told the girls,
who discussed my declination..
(I hope declination, is a word because I've used it a lot this year).

k: "ugh!  do you know Jett is abandoning us in favour of lincraft?  how lame!"

h: "actually i support her in that endeavour."

k: "over hanging out with us?!"

h: "well she's dyeing."

k: "she is NOT.  she's just over-reacting.  she was supposedly dying this morning and she's totally fine."

h: "no seriously, she's dyeing.  she needs to go get the dyes today."

k [pause, looks confused]: "...what?  oh you mean DYE-ing.  oh.  well, that's still not a good enough excuse."

P.S. am totally dying.

Suntory Club House.

I have a new blog now,
this one (hellojett) will of course remain as
boring as ever,
but my second one will be
with H (or Mary-Jane)
and will be our secret club house blog.

Suntory Club House is our shared blog to share our creative endeavours,
and our love of Bill Murray.
It's actually called Super Happy Suntory Club House.

We're going to meet at different places,
and blog our progress in creativenesses.
What jolly fun.

Find it here: Suntory Club House

Reclaim the pine.

How to make a table,
when you're low on cash,
don't have a car
or a drill.

Seriously I'm just as excited by it
set up in my living room ready to use
as the day I found it.
I think because I feel like I made it.
It's my first bit of reclaimed furniture,
albeit with Ikea legs.
I should so be on Scrap Yard Make Over.

A and I quite often visit the hard rubbish site at work,
there's often wonderful things but we always need a trailer.
But when one finds a quality piece of pine,
one carries it to one's office to worry about transportation later.
It's complete with support boarder underneath.

Got E from work to drive it home for me :)

Buy table legs at $5 each from Ikea.
Tip #1 Don't screw in screws and hammer in when they don't work.

Needed D from work to bring over her drill :)

Voila! A new sewing table.
Sanded down and everything.

Tidy living room ready for my mum's visit.

I'm so pleased with my tidying up efforts,
I can use the living room again.

The door at the back leads into the hairdressing salon.
I hate those bitches.

The owner of my flat yelled out to me,
when I was moving my desk from the spare room,
I seriously just stared at her,
how the fuck does she think that she can come
into my house (even to the doorstep)
when she hasn't given me 24 hours notice,
she was getting foils in her hair,
and kind of smirked at me when she said
"You don't mind me having a cigarette outside do you?"
Fuck you and your rudeness.

Gotta go, kitty is attacking the stick insects!

Daily Bunny day three.

Don't worry, the bun stops here.

Green bunny cosy.

Don't worry there'll be no more bunnies,
I don't really like them,
they all look mean.

Went to Spotlight last night,
and bought a range of arty goodness.
An embroidery hoop, felt, aida cross stitch fabric,
wool and knitting loop needles.
The lady in the shop said that I must have
a wide range of crafting talents.
Wouldn't say talents,
ambitions perhaps.
Some things work,
others don't. Meh,

Fabric from Ink and Spindle.
They're on the wall in my arty room,
ready for mummy to enjoy when she visits next week.
Simple and pretty.
My kind of craft.

Daily Bunny day two

S wanted an albino rabbit with red eyes.

Wednesday, 20 October 2010

Daily bunny.

S, with a bunny on her lap.
A little too small for S's head.
It doesn't really look this evil!

So, S is going to have to start eating boiled eggs,
now that I've made her a bunny egg cosy.

Made at work.

I'm supposed to be wrapping up my work
due to going on holidays,
but stuffing around instead.

If only I could use my time for good,
instead of evil
bunnies.

Textiles class is totally F'n A.

Raffia basket

Raffia is an ugly material anyhow
Basketry installation, tied between the window frame

Ribbon basket, complète avec une faute d'orthographe

bonjor.

Hear the correct pronunciation here.
Bottom of weaved basket
Home made paper and wool installation - with weaving

Weaving sculpture
don't ask what it is.

I grew these.  Pretty huh?

Chewin' out a rhythm on my bubble gum

Man, when you've got a Ramones song in your head
and you try to find it,
by clicking through each song...

Out of 99 Ramones songs in my collection,
12 start with One, Two, Three, four!
3 start with Go!
76 are under 3 minutes.
and
99 make you forget what you're looking for.

Anyway I found it.

One, Two, Three, Four!
Chewin' out a rhythm on my bubble gum.

Rockaway Beach.

Man I wanna live there.

First the crochet blanket, now the basket.

So Dollface and I are astrological twins,
and now we've both made baskets.....
I love that we do the same things
but have no idea that each other is doing them.

this was for my textiles assignment,
not for fun.
although it was kinda fun.

Drawing on comics

So without enrolling into Jeffrey Brown's comic class
I decided to pretend.

Here's my comics.
I'll title them, coz my writings messy yo.

You found it where?! - At the train station, I think it's a clock.

I know I've got cancer, I'm just putting on a brave face. - Why?

Hey, it's Sunday twit!

Cheer up, it might never happen. - Fuck, so I'll be a virgin forever, great.

Where'd you get those eggs? - Buried in the sand, I'm gonna sleep on them.

You stole my fucking pen again. - No, No Please!

I'm sure you'll find a new group of friends. - It was only me anyway.

Really? I'm sure you're making that up.

and he was all like. - mmm. and I was all like. - yep

Uh, where'd you get that kid from Steve?

Remember that house you lent me, uh, well it kinda burnt down. - Was anyone hurt?..... Oh, you fucker!

You aren't on the Italian team, now do the dishes!

please adore me on my belated birthday

My that sounds rather needy.

[insert dialogue beginning with
"I was going to make you a card" and
ending in "just give it to me on the
next blue moon"]

[insert blue moon lyrics into head]

\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/

Blue moon, you saw me standing alone
Without a dream in my heart, without a love of my own
Blue moon, you knew just what I was there for
You heard me saying a prayer for
Someone I really could care for

And then there suddenly appeared before me
The only one my arms will hold
I heard somebody whisper please adore me

And when I looked, the moon had turned to gold
Blue moon, now I'm no longer alone
Without a dream in my heart
Without a love of my own

\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/

I'm not sure what to think about
people who tell you they have gifts
for you, but
don't give them
to you
on your belated birthday
or ever
because they weren't talking
to you at the time
but now kind of are
29 days ago I was 30.

The only thing I want for my
birthday is a few
well behaved friends.
and a home made card.

It's just a step to the right.

When I was at my sister's house
visting my niece and nephew,

My sister was calling my nephew chop,
and I said "you call him chop?"

she replied
"He's chop and she's angel chop".

cute.

Favourite things to do at work.

1. tend my terrarium
2. give people presents
3. make many cups of coffee that i will only take 3 sips out of
4. spill coffee, (see above)
5. shop online
6. crossword/target word
7. daily otter (google it)
8. chat with my pod pals
9. say no lots
10. hometime

Made this deer head for A's house.
Annoyingly it's better made than my one.

My terrarium has been given a make over,
by desktop blitz.
Baby tears, a fimo mushroom, pebbles
and a worm that I found in the playground.

Hot town, summer in the city

Anyone who doesn't love the eels
is a fool.

You never really know what you're
going to get when you see the eels.

Weirdly,
mid-winter,
Melbourne,
he pulled out some summer hits.

I wish I can remember more of this gig.
Any gig.

My heart is beating like a jungle drum

and it's not from love,
it's from fear of doing
something else wrong.

NOBODY IS SUPPOSED TO MAKE YOU FEEL THIS WAY.

Sometimes people don't understand
that when they're stressed, or emotional,
they take some people down with them.

Imagine coming home
not knowing what kind of mood
they're in.
Are you going to have a nice day,
is something you do going to upset them?

That's what it feels like to go to work sometimes.

NOTHING IS SUPPOSED TO MAKE YOU FEEL THIS WAY.

This, because I am going to the gym instead of the football.
Phah!

Distraction is an obstruction for the construction.

Finished my crochet blanket at last.
It weighs 1.8kgs.
My new niece was 3.1kgs.
Just over half the weight of a new baby.

It's now Spring.

I think I liked those photos of Byron Bay so much,
because of the light.
The light in the aperture
making bright clear shots.

You don't get that in Melbourne much.
Sorry for the darkness in this picture,
I will re-photograph on a sunny day.

What next?

Maybe I'll learn the drums.
