I've had a skin-full.

I didn't find Skins (British version)
that out of the ordinary.
I didn't think that the family situations those kids
were in, were overly far fetched.
The amount of drugs and alcohol consumed,
the sex lives, was just about right.

And if anything wasn't,
I guess it's just a tv show.

The New Yorker doesn't have that opinion.
Talking on the American version of the show,
Nancy Frankin writes
"there is an unsparing quality to much British drama,
and it requires viewers to tolerate a high level of discomfort"

So...
Americans watch British tv shows,
with the same disassociation
as when I watch a horror movie,
hear about an earthquake killing hundreds
or say no to sponsoring another child?

They should probably sort out their gun laws
before trying to protect their teenagers from having sex.

And contarary to what they seem to think,
people don't learn behaviours from television.

On a sad note,
one of my female phasmids - spiny leaf stick insects
died.
Two down, one to go.
It's really sad to loose a pet.
The living one put her foot on the
shoulder of the dead one,
as if it was mourning it.
I was.
That's two now, a male and a female.
I have many stick insect eggs,
although according to this
they can take 1-3 years to hatch.
I'm going to have to rethink my strategy with this.
Sad, just the one will be lonely.

Greenpeace recipes meh, and The Women.
I didn't order this DVD either.
Quickflix pleasequit sending me absolute gobshite like this.

I'm going to save my current order list
and see if anything turns up unexpectedly.
Anyone else have this problem?

5 year journal and prize home ticket
Starting to think that I wont win a prize home
after all, but I'm keeping it going until the end of the year.
I think I'm getting more and more stubborn as the years pass.

The 5 year journals...
bought from: Urban Outfitters.

One is for Britt my best friend of 17 years.
(B I wont post it, as you're here next week...)

One line a day for 5 years, then we swap and
read through each others...
It'll be very interesting.
Each page has an entry line for each of the 5 years,
so you can easily see what you did on the 4th of March each year.

Oh the Malaysian President is here.
We're all looking out the window,
from the first floor...
-Which one is he?
"The wee bald one"
-Oi!, baldy!

How to kill your husband.

Mail day 9

Good film,
I guess I don't know that much about Paul Giamatti
to know if he was really acting as himself
being himself etc.

Mail day 10
2x Bank Statements and.....
a competition I won through work ages ago,
finally I have the tickets.
I'm going to my first Opera with Mary-Jane.
Funny it seems so important to go to an Opera
at least once in your life,
but I probably wouldn't have ever gone
if I hadn't won tickets.

It's not until May so will let you know how it was then.

Staples come with me liking you.

Day 5 of Mail : - Credit card statement.
too boring and depressing to post on here I owe too much.

Day 6 of Mail:
Selling a business?
After being told to fuck off and to stop bitching
in a training session by A,
because I'd delayed accepting the meeting a mere 27 minutes
after it had been scheduled,
no information sheets were printed for me,
I walked out.

I had a re-scheduled training session,
with management chaperones.
Because you know, A and I work together.
and I need to know this stuff.

This time my information sheets weren't stapled.
I took that personally.

The more you want the less you get

I didn't sleep at all last night.

I played Words with friends instead,
I got bitten by mosquitoes,
I removed a dead gekko from my room (thanks Scully),
I drank milk,
I smoked cigarettes,
I listened to Andrew Johnson "Positivity",
I checked my email,
I moved to the other side of my bed,
I changed 3 pillows,
I played Pulp - Babies a lot.

I just kept trying to be still,
because I always remember
Dollface telling me that when she couldn't
sleep as a child,
her mother would say
"lie very still and keep your eyes closed,
it's the same as sleeping".

Post day number 4.
The postmen were in the box room!  I had to be quick.

Another prize home, Another prize home,
Plan: Win house, Sell house, Buy nicer house.
I'm still not tired and that's scary.

Mail project

My little box.

I love opening it to see what treasures behold.

Day one of Mail in 2011 Jan 4th

An overdue internet bill, confirmation of enrolment for Semester 1 studies
and a matchbox swap received from Denmark.

I'm going to use the God Jul ribbon to wrap M's gift in next Christmas.
Him being a viking and all.

Day two of Mail in 2011 Jan 5th
Letter from Dollface/StitchyBritt and a prize home ticket.
I am going to win a prize home this year.

Letter, envelopes and a Zine about post.

Told you it was very fitting with my idea!

And now I'm going to check today's post...

Day three of Mail in 2011 Jan 6th

The Guardian Weekly, which I don't get a chance to read and a Quickflix DVD, can't remember ordering this one.

Hopefully my telly with built in DVD player will turn up soon.
(I've fucked my Mac so it only plays UK DVDs).

Alas one day I'll return to the Mother Land.
As soon as the guilt trips stop from my mother.
And my nan,
who's words of wisdom include:
"you should move back near to your mother"
"your mother moved away from me, and now she's sorry"
"I like living alone though, although its lonely"
"home is where you make it"
"it's not what's in his pants...."

New Years eve fizzler.
Pop.

Jesus fucking h christ,
it doesn't stop.
This is where my money goes.
This is why I can't afford a coffee today!

I also have mail delivered to my desk.
Dresses and swimming costume and t-shirt dress.
Yay, comfy summer.
I <3 ASOS.
And I got two of the same dress,
so Harriet claimed the other one.
I love internet shopping.

Totally awesome.
